Our GameChanger programme helps entrepreneurs inside and outside Shell to develop their ideas into a product that can be introduced to the market. If we believe an idea has the potential to change the energy industry, we provide technical and business expertise, as well as funding, to help the proponent work the idea to a ‘proof-of-concept’ stage – essentially testing the idea to see if it has potential for onward research and development.

Our annual Shell Eco-marathon has helped foster technological innovation for sustainable mobility amongst young people for more than 25 years. Held in Europe, the Americas and Asia, it challenges high school and college student teams from around the world to design, build and test energy efficient vehicles.

The Shell Foundation is an independent charity that applies an enterprise-based approach to tackling poverty and environmental challenges. This means using business thinking, models and disciplines to fund financially viable solutions that can be replicated in a number of countries.

In the UK, Shell Springboard is a Social Investment programme that provides a financial boost to innovative, low carbon business ideas from across the UK. It awards £40,000 every year, no strings attached, to eight small businesses with an innovative product or service that will lead to greenhouse gas emission reductions and is commercially viable.

Shell LiveWIRE is the UK’s biggest online community for young entrepreneurs. It enables people to easily share, discuss and foster new business ideas. Every year, Shell awards the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award worth £10,000.
